Cherry Blossoms Mean Spring
cherry blossoms announce spring in my city.

i applaud whoever had the vision to plant these trees here.
other than japan, i don’t know where one would find such an abundance of these trees, although i think i heard that
washington d.c. has cherry blossoms.
you can’t enjoy the trees unless there is a background of blue sky to set them off. some years you have to wait days and days for the rains to stop and the grey sky to clear before the opportunity shows itself. the sky wasn’t perfect when i took these pictures but i was glad to discover that the recent heavy rains didn’t pummel the trees bare.
there are several separate blocks along gravely street that display these beautiful trees. these pictures are from one section and i haven’t found a better place to enjoy them. for a few weeks, the people who live here must feel like they’re in paradise.
